Disney films are not just colourful cartoons created to shut kids up for an hour and a half.

These films change our lives.

They taught us so much – not just about romance, friendship and the importance of a catchy song.

Here are the lessons all 90s kids learned from Aladdin, Hercules and Ariel.

1. Never pretend to be something you are not

I would be lying all over job applications if it weren’t for things going so badly for Flik who was pretending to be a warrior bug in A Bug’s Life and Aladdin who professed to be a prince.

And bless Buzz Lightyear, he didn’t quite know that he wasn’t actually a space ranger, but boy did he look foolish.

2. There is always an escape route

I just want people to accept me: Heartbreaking plea from bullied transgender boy

Metro

A young boy with gender dysphoria has recorded an emotional video begging for acceptance from his schoolmates.

Milla Brown, nine, talks frankly in the video about how he was targeted by bullies calling him ‘gay girl’ and ‘weirdo’.

Fortunately for Milla, from Brisbane, Australia, his family supports him and it was actually his mother, Renee Fabish, who created the video to raise awareness.

Ms Fabish said: ‘Her gender assigned at birth does not align with how she feels inside – Milla was born female but her brain identifies as male.

In his video, he says: ‘My name is Milla. It’s not easy being me, I have gender dysphoria. I feel like I am in the wrong body.

‘She became increasingly distressed at the thought of growing boobs she said “If I grow boobs I am going to cut them off”.’
